Unlocking Potential. Achieving Dreams

“I’ve learned an invaluable amount from working with Daryl…… These lessons ultimately helped unlock my physiological potential to achieve my dream of representing Canada at the Rio Olympics”

Leah Kirchmann – Olympic Road Cyclists

Daryl helped me develop from a provincial level athlete, to the internationally competitive Olympic athlete that I am today. He helped me identify and target my weaknesses, turning these weaknesses into strengths over time. A perfect testament to this approach was winning all three National Championship road cycling titles in 2014, being the first Canadian to ever accomplish this. I still cherish those victories, the time trial victory in particular. We worked so hard developing specific time trial training, a pacing plan, and warm up and nutrition protocols in the lead up to the event. With hard work and smart planning using Daryl as a resource, a weakness of mine became a strength.

Daryl also does a great job building programs around the demands of your lifestyle. He helped me find balance as a student athlete as I trained and competed while attending University. I was still able to improve my performance and compete at a high level while balancing a busy schedule. Over the years, I’ve learned an invaluable amount from working with Daryl, and I still apply these ideas to my current training and approach to sport. These lessons ultimately helped unlock my physiological potential to achieve my dream of representing Canada at the Rio Olympics.
